Thanks to strong demand for a true utra lite, Keystone Passport hits milestone in record time.

Keystone RV Company's Passport Ultra Lite division reached an industry milestone in record time, as the 35,000th Passport trailer rolled off the Goshen assembly line. Celebrating in grand fashion, the Passport sales team handed over the keys to Nathan and Justin Hart of Walnut Ridge Family RV Sales of New Castle, Indiana, in front of the whole plant.

First introduced as a 2007 model, Passport's retail sales hit an all time high in 2014. Says Product Manager Ryan Shuff, "We have stayed true to the core of the ultra lite market and strive to keep weights low. One-hundred percent of the Passport product line is truly half-ton towable, even by older tow vehicles. And we didn't stop there! Today an entire segment of the Passport product line is towable by the new crossover vehicles."

The Passport product line features 25 floorplans including bunk house and couple-oriented models.  Offered in choice of three trim levels—Express, Grand Touring, and Elite—RV enthusiasts can find a Passport that is just right for their needs and towing requirements.

Comments Shuff, "By maintaining our focus on what is important to the ultra lite buyer—great  looks, floorplan that fits their lifestyle, quality construction, and most importantly easy towability—Passport is filling the need of more and more owners."

One example of the way Passport is dialed into the ultra lite campers is their new EXP series.  EXP stands for “expandables” and that’s what gives these models their extra Mojo. They are smaller and lighter than any full featured travel trailer on the market today yet offer all the comfort, conveniences and space. For example, the Passport 145EXP is about 18-feet in length, weighs approximately 3120 pounds dry with a hitch weight of 470 pounds.  It’s equipped with full kitchen, RV refrigerator, range, microwave, huge private bath with shower, and TV and entertainment center and sleeping for six.  All this in an incredibly light weight package.  (View or download Passport Explandables floorplans and specs here.)

The ultra lite market is booming as more and more consumers realize you don’t necessarily need a huge tow vehicle to enjoy the benefits of RV camping. With models like these new Passports, is it any wonder sales are over the top for this Keystone ultra lite division.
