Open Sesame

Plenty of manufacturers are making toy haulers, but few are hitting the market with an open floorplan. The Impact by Fuzion 3118 is taking aim at that market.  One of the new Keystone RVs you will see at RV Shows is this "open concept" toy hauler travel trailer with a huge 18 1/2-foot garage.

Most toy haulers have the garage enclosed and walled off from the rest of the living quarters. This new Impact floorplan does not separate the garage from the kitchen and living area, making the maximum amount of space to squeeze in toys while in transit. “This is built for the demands of the avid ATV/4-wheeler/sand rail enthusiast,” says Jeremiah Dumka, product manager for Fuzion/Impact. “People out there are getting more sand rails and side-by-sides. Their toys are getting bigger. These guys go out,get all their toys in here, take them out to the desert or the mountains and unload. This is something that is built in Elkhart County to our very high standards. … It has the quality of East Coast production, but at a price point that’s going to be attractive to both East and West Coast outdoor enthusiasts.”

Chrome and Carbon Bring Luxury & Affordability to the SURV Marketplace

Today’s Keystone “toy haulers” are a far cry from the industrial-looking man caves of a decade ago.  For example, the new Fuzion Chrome and Raptor Carbon offer all the features of high-end conventional fifth wheels (or travel trailers) in addition to almost unlimited cargo hauling capability and convenience.  These new models from Keystone can truly be called luxury crossover vehicles.

Here’s box score of how each brand stacks up.  (Click on the links to see photos, where available.)
